About Hope
One of Scotland's most successful and enjoyed contemporary artists, Hope Blamire, was born in 1975 in Galston, Ayrshire.
She graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone college of Art in 1998, having been selected to spend her third year at Alberta College of Art in Calgary, Canada. She then went on to qualify as an art teacher from UWIC in Cardiff and taught in international schools in Egypt and Malawi, before returning to teach in Scotland and England.
Hope’s studio is near Bath in the South West of England and she returns every few weeks to the west coast of Scotland to gather photographic reference material for her artwork back in the studio. Her paintings are sought after by art collectors both in the UK and internationally, with paintings in private collections in United States of America, Canada, England, Europe and Australia.
In recent years, her work has been displayed in prestigious galleries in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bath, Perth, Crieff, the west coast of Scotland and South West England. Hope regularly undertakes private commissions for collectors both in the UK and overseas.
